Stress First Aid for IP Teams from Classrooms to Clinics: Implementation of a Peer Support Stress Mitigation Program Across Academic Health Centers
Participants will learn the basics of the Stress First Aid (SFA) for Healthcare Workers and its application among the current and future healthcare workforce. Specifically, grantees from the Health Resources and Services Administration initiatives at Duke University, North Carolina Central University, and the University of Virginia will describe their initiatives focused on its delivery for health professions students and clinicians.
Participants will learn about the program and have an opportunity to hear about outcome measures and potential impact at the program and system level. Additionally, participants will engage in exemplar sessions aimed at promoting application of SFA principles and will have an opportunity to discuss challenges and pose questions about well-being promotion programs to panel members from the listed institutions.
In support of improving patient care, this activity is planned and implemented by The National Center for Interprofessional Practice and Education Office of Interprofessional Continuing Professional Development (National Center OICPD). The National Center OICPD is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
As a Jointly Accredited Provider, the National Center is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. State and provincial regulatory boards have the final authority to determine whether an individual course may be accepted for continuing education credit. The National Center maintains responsibility for this course. Social workers completing this course receive continuing education credits.
The National Center OICPD (JA#: 4008105) is approved by the Board of Certification, Inc. to provide continuing education to Athletic Trainers (ATs).
