Dr. Rita Lenhardt, CCC-SLP, joined Gannon University’s (Ruskin, FL) Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology faculty in 2021. She completed her Doctor of Health Science Degree at Nova Southeastern University with a focus on Global Health Issues. Dr. Lenhardt’s research focuses on interprofessional instructional design, service learning to improve cultural sensitivity, and traumatic brain injury treatment. She is an instructor of courses in neuroscience, adult cognitive communication disorders, and research methods.
Presenting at the Nexus Summit:
This seminar will discuss the preplanning, delivery, and post planning of an international service learning experience that promoted interdisciplinary teamwork and collaboration between 12 healthcare graduate students. The interprofessional practice and education curriculum delivered through the service learning experience will exemplify the interprofessional collaboration to address health equity, racism and bias in the interprofessional practice theme.
