Welcome

Join us for the Nexus Summit, an annual convening that serves as a forum for deep, rich learning opportunities, and a space for community building. The Nexus Summit 2024 marks the ninth year of the interprofessional practice and education community coming together to learn about, from, and with each other in the Nexus of practice and education as we strive to impact health and learning outcomes that matter most to the people we serve.

This year the conference will once again be held virtually to empower the most accessible engagement from the national and global interprofessional practice and education community.

Land Acknowledgement:

We acknowledge that the National Center for Interprofessional Practice and Education, at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities is built within the traditional homelands of the Dakota people. Minnesota comes from the Dakota name for this region, Mni Sóta Maḳoce, which loosely translates to the land where the waters reflect the skies.

It is important to acknowledge the peoples on whose land we live, learn, and work as we seek to improve and strengthen our relations with our tribal nations. We also acknowledge that words are not enough. We must ensure that our institution provides support, resources, and programs that increase access to all aspects of higher education for our American Indian students, staff, faculty, and community members.

A message from the National Center

On behalf of the National Center for Interprofessional Practice and Education, I am delighted to welcome you to the virtual Nexus Summit 2024: Navigating Complexity to Advance Outcomes! Nexus Summit 2024 continues the tradition of an action-oriented meeting packed with content and designed to facilitate our learning with, from, and about each other to advance health and learning outcomes that matter. Nexus Summit 2024 themes have been designed to push our thinking in the most important domains of interprofessional practice and education:

  1. Person, Family and Community-Engaged Practice and Education
  2. Interprofessional Collaboration and Advocacy to Address Health Equity, Racism and Bias in Practice
  3. Building the Evidence Base for Interprofessional Practice and Education
  4. Advancing Interprofessional Care through Practice-Education Partnerships
  5. Developing and Sustaining Leadership in Interprofessional Practice and Education
  6. Preparing Students for Interprofessional Collaborative Practice

We are grateful to the interprofessional community for the overwhelming response to the call for abstracts. During Nexus Summit 2024, more than 200 peer-reviewed and invited sessions will be featured to challenge thinking, build knowledge, and expand our collective ability to design, deliver and evaluate interprofessional practice and education interventions to impact important health and learning outcomes. In addition, Nexus Summit 2024 will once again feature daily Networking activities, wellness breaks, and debriefing sessions to enrich your learning experience and connect as a community.

We are excited to welcome you and learn with you at Nexus Summit 2024!
