Dr. Marilyn Ostendorf is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Nursing at the University of Southern Indiana. She has over 40 years of clinical nursing experience and 22 years within academic education of nursing. She has been very active in the development of interprofessional education in both undergraduate and graduate programs.

Interprofessional collaboration is key to improving patient outcomes. Patients present with complex needs; interprofessional care allows each healthcare discipline to bring their own unique perspective, knowledge, and skill set to the healthcare team. Students are taught the concept of healthcare teamwork through interprofessional education (IPE) including activities, simulations, trainings, and lectures.
