Blair Carsone PhD, MOT, OTR/L, BCP is the Doctoral Capstone Coordinator and Assistant Professor in the Entry-Level Occupational Therapy Doctorate Program at Gannon University in Ruskin, FL. Her research focuses on sensory integration, feeding, and mindfulness. Dr. Carsone also is the clinical director of numerous outpatient pediatric clinics in Florida. She loves helping students and clinicians develop and hone their clinical skills in the classroom and in the clinic. Dr. Carsone strives to give back through her non-profit, Carsone KIDS Inc. The non-profit provides free educational resources for families and therapists to promote skill development and carryover of therapeutic techniques.
Presenting at the Nexus Summit:
This seminar will discuss the preplanning, delivery, and post planning of an international service learning experience that promoted interdisciplinary teamwork and collaboration between 12 healthcare graduate students. The interprofessional practice and education curriculum delivered through the service learning experience will exemplify the interprofessional collaboration to address health equity, racism and bias in the interprofessional practice theme.
