Wanda Felty (she/her) has been an advocate and supporter of people with disabilities, well before the birth of her daughter who was born with developmental disabilities, more than 30 years ago. After the birth of her daughter, advocacy became her passion. For the past 15 years, Wanda has been a professional in the field of family advocacy and system change. She serves on many state advisory boards and works nationally to improve the system and services for people with developmental disabilities and their families. Wanda is considered one of the leading experts in Oklahoma on state policy for people with developmental disabilities. She and her husband created one of the first national campaigns to end the use of the “r” word.

The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center is a comprehensive Academic Health Center with seven health professions colleges and an interdisciplinary graduate college focused on the biomedical sciences. Within OU Health Sciences there are more than 70 programs of study for students, residents, fellows and post-doctoral fellows.
