Veronica Chollette, RN, MS, is a Program Director in the Health Systems and Interventions Research Branch of the NCI’s Healthcare Delivery Research Program. With over 30 years of experience managing grants at NCI, she oversees research on cervical cancer screening, HPV vaccination, prostate cancer disparities, PSA screening, and interprofessional teamwork in healthcare delivery. She co-leads the Healthcare Teams Initiative, focusing on improving patient outcomes through evidence-based team research. Ms. Chollette holds a BSN and an MS in Health Systems Management from George Mason University.

Effective collaboration within and across multidisciplinary cancer care teams is essential for ensuring high-quality patient outcomes. Despite its importance, little was understood about the teamwork competencies necessary to coordinate cancer care within a multiteam system prior to our study. In our Lightning Talk, we will define the concept of a multiteam system and describe challenges inherent in navigating interdisciplinary collaboration and care coordination within the complex cancer care delivery system.
