Stephanie de Sam Lazaro, OTD, OTR/L is Associate Professor and Interprofessional Education Director for the Institute of Simulation and Interprofessional Learning at St. Catherine University. Her clinical expertise is in working with children and their families including developmental monitoring and surveillance and anticipatory guidance activities. Her scholarship focuses on inter- and intra-professional teaching and learning, including simulation-enhanced interprofessional education, and interprofessional community-engaged learning experiences for healthcare students. This includes practice and scholarship in addressing oral health equity needs for children and families as part of the interprofessional oral health team.

This Lightning Talk will discuss how best practices in simulation were utilized to develop an interprofessional Code Blue simulation to meet the learning objectives for four different healthcare disciplines, along with learning objectives for interprofessional practice. Faculty from each of the four disciplines met to identify discipline-specific and interprofessional learning objectives and design a pre-brief, simulation scenario, and debrief to meet those objectives for all students.
