Nicole Kolm Valdivia, PhD, MPH, CHES Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs Assistant Professor of Epidemiology University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Public Health Nicole Kolm Valdivia serves as the Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs and an Assistant Professor of Epidemiology at the College of Public Health (COPH) at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. In her role as Academic Dean, she provides leadership for the development and implementation of graduate professional and certificate curricula at the COPH. She also provides oversight of accreditation activities, program quality, and educational assessments and evaluation. Dr. Kolm Valdivia has significant experience in public health practice, having worked in governmental, non-profit, and academic public health settings since 2007. Topical areas of public health she's worked in include teenage pregnancy, sexually transmitted infections, HIV, hepatitis C, substance use, and harm reduction. Her skillsets include program design and evaluation, grant writing, strategic planning, quality improvement, and curriculum development. In addition, she's taught graduate-level courses in various areas of public health, including program evaluation, health behavior, applied research, epidemiology, community health, and biostatistics.
