Lisa Currie, MSEd, MEd is the Program Coordinator & Training Specialist for MATEC-Wisconsin, a federally funded HIV clinical workforce development center located at the University of Wisconsin - Madison School of Medicine & Public Health. She possesses three decades of experience as an adult health educator, trainer, and sexologist. Her goal is to end the HIV epidemic by reducing challenges people at risk for or living with HIV face due to stigma and the social determinants of health, particularly the LGBTQ+ population. She is currently working towards her PhD in human sexuality studies through Widener University.

While many professional accreditation programs require students to learn from, with, and about other professions, it is not commonplace for students to have the educational opportunity to be a part of an interprofessional team working on collaboration and teamwork throughout an entire semester. Twenty-one students representing five disciplines at the University of Wisconsin-Madison participated in an Interprofessional Collaborative Practice in HIV elective course focused on foundational knowledge and skills in interprofessional practice through the lens of HIV.
