Kelly D. Loyd is a Volunteer Patient and Family Advisor at MUSC Health in Charleston, SC. She is the mom to twin girls born prematurely at MUSC in 2007. Gracie was on a ventilator and in the hospital for 77 days and Annie for 31 days. When her daughters were four, Kelly became a volunteer at MUSC and since then has accrued almost 5,000 hours partnering with care team members to promote a culture of Patient- and Family-Centered Care.
