Katie Cavnar, MS, MLS(ASCP) is the chair and program director of the Medical Laboratory Sciences department at the University of West Florida. She also co-chairs the Interprofessional Education committee in the Usha Kundu, MD College of Health at the University of West Florida. She has been involved with IPE at the university since 2019.

A civility in the workplace workshop was recently held at a community hospital for University of West Florida (UWF) College of Health students and local healthcare employees. This workshop provided a valuable opportunity for students from various disciplines to engage with each other and other healthcare professionals to participate in role-playing exercises and practice using civil communication skills.
