Civil Communication in Interprofessional Education
A civility in the workplace workshop was recently held at a community hospital for University of West Florida (UWF) College of Health students and local healthcare employees. This workshop provided a valuable opportunity for students from various disciplines to engage with each other and other healthcare professionals to participate in role-playing exercises and practice using civil communication skills. By learning to handle challenging situations with respect and an evidence-based approach, the participants enhanced their communication abilities. This can result in improved patient care and a healthier community overall. The priority criteria met in this poster is, "Identification and addressing of factors beyond clinical care (e.g. social determinants) that affect the health of individuals, communities, and populations.
