Dr. Karin Arsenault is an AssociateProfessor in the Department of Public Health & Community Service and the Geriatric Dentistry Program Director at TUSDM. She has extensive experience in geriatrics, public health & community service, and health care policy. As a Co-Investigator of Project Social, her responsibilities include: leading the creation of the Advanced Response for Complex Treatment and Integrated Care team, participating in the design of a new integrated care & education model, and advising on the care of older adults with complex oral health needs.

Description: There has been a growing awareness that social determinants of health (SDOH), such as socioeconomic status, housing, and transportation, play a critical role in people’s health. While SDOH has been recognized as an important part of health, dental students often struggle to address social complexities that impact care.
