Karen See, a second-year pharmacy student at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Pharmacy, is involved in shaping the UMKC Interprofessional Scholars Program. She actively participates in interprofessional seminars and has completed an interprofessional practice course with students from different healthcare disciplines. She is taking part in a rural immersion program, learning about rural healthcare from community members and healthcare professionals. She has developed effective communication skills with various professions from her experience in community and hospital pharmacy settings. She anticipates gaining valuable insights from the Interprofessional Scholars Program to enhance her understanding of interprofessional practice.

Background: While interprofessional curricular activities are required by most health professions programs, learners are often looking for additional experiences to develop as an interprofessional team-member.
