Justine is an experienced graduate education instructor and healthcare management professional with a focus in problem solving, change management, innovation system design, new service design and delivery. Justine serves as senior lecturer and member of the leadership team for the Masters of Healthcare Administration Program, Division of Health Policy and Management, School of Public Health. She is the lead instructor for the Minnesota Problem Solving Method curriculum alongside the strategy and marketing curriculum for both the full-time and executive MHA Programs. Justine has served as coach to first place and top three ranked graduate education healthcare student case competition teams. Justine is a Faculty-At-Large in the Center for Interprofessional Health at the University of Minnesota where she is a faculty advisor for the Clarion Case Competition and a co-facilitator of the EcoHealth Quest IPE experiences.

Learning from case studies is a common practice in health science education. The CLARION Case Competition takes this common practice and provides a unique experience for students to collaborate on interprofessional problem solving. Through the CLARION Interprofessional Case Competition, groups of 3 to 4 students in interprofessional teams analyze a case that deals with both patient-centered and systemic challenges in healthcare. The CLARION case competition, originating at the University of Minnesota over two decades ago, has grown as an annual national interprofessional event. It engages students from various professions and institutions to tackle complex healthcare cases, crafted by interprofessional faculty and community organizations. Teams from diverse educational backgrounds compete locally, with winners advancing to a national level where they can earn cash prizes. In 2017, we began collecting data using the ICCAS survey to evaluate the competition's impact on student competencies across multiple dimensions.…
