Joseph Lynch, MD FAAP CHSE, is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics in the West Virginia University School of Medicine. He is a pediatric hospitalist, residency program director, and director of pediatric simulation. His interests include medical education, simulation, and intermediate care. He has won numerous teaching awards and is active nationally in the American Academy of Pediatrics Subsection on Simulation and Innovative Learning Methods, as well as the Association of Pediatric Program Directors Healthcare Simulation learning community. His scholarly work in simulation focuses on communication, in situ emergency preparedness, and interprofessional and intercollegiate gaps in medical education.

This seminar will be an interactive workshop in which participants will engage with an innovative learning experience developed to prepare learners for teamwork, communication, and collaboration in healthcare settings. Participants will employ perspective-taking as they watch a video recording of Sorrel King telling Josie’s Story and share the perspective through roleplay during debriefing. After attending this seminar, participants will be able to:
