Joanne received a Bachelor of Arts in Nursing degree from the University of Jamestown, an MSN Nurse Educator Degree from the University of Mary, an EdD in Educational Leadership and Management, with a Post Master's Certification in Leadership and Accountability, and a Post Master's Certification in Educational Leadership and Management from Capella University. Joanne has over 20 years of nursing experience focusing on rehabilitation nursing, specializing in brain and spinal cord injuries as a past Certified Rehabilitation Nurse. Joanne is an Associate Professor and the Program Coordinator for the MSN to DNP Nursing Organizational Leadership program.

Interprofessional education (IPE) prepares students for interprofessional collaborative practice, and interprofessional competence requires scaffolding of learning and the opportunity to engage in interprofessional education, which should begin early and occur at multiple points across the curriculum.
