Dr. Jessica Mason is an Assistant Professor of Occupational Therapy and the Program Chair for the Occupational Therapy Program at the University of Southern Indiana. She graduated with her Master of Science in Occupational therapy in 2006 from the University of Southern Indiana and Occupational Therapy Doctorate in 2017 from Eastern Kentucky University. Her clinical expertise includes inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient, and school-based practice. She began teaching in occupational therapy education in 2014. Her research agenda is focused on educational outcomes for students in the classroom and development of professional and technical skills of students.

Interprofessional collaboration is key to improving patient outcomes. Patients present with complex needs; interprofessional care allows each healthcare discipline to bring their own unique perspective, knowledge, and skill set to the healthcare team. Students are taught the concept of healthcare teamwork through interprofessional education (IPE) including activities, simulations, trainings, and lectures.
