Dr. Lockhart has been a full-time faculty member of Jacksonville State University since 2022. She currently teaches courses within the Doctor of Nursing Practice program as well as the Family Nurse Practitioner program. With over ten years of professional nursing practice, she has extensive experience in primary care, urgent care, and emergency room settings. Her previous research includes working to improve the self-management of patients' chronic conditions in primary care and rural healthcare delivery. Currently, Dr. Lockhart maintains faculty practice within a rural urgent care and is licensed as a nurse practitioner in both Alabama and Tennessee.
