Jason Craig is a Simulation Researcher and former Simulation Education Specialist for the David & Jo Ann Shaw Center for Simulation Training and Education for Patient Safety (STEPS) at West Virginia University. With over a decade’s worth of experience in Simulation-based Healthcare Education, he is a member of the Society for Simulation in Healthcare and is a Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator - Advanced. He serves as a prep course facilitator for the CHSE Blueprint Review Committee as well as a candidate reviewer for the CHSE-A Certification Committee. Prior to WVU, he specialized in Emergency Management & Counterterrorism, focusing on Communications.

Many studies of educational activities are inherently focused on results gathered from surveys and performance data of the learner. However, the impact of participation in educational activities, particularly those involving interprofessional practice and education on the facilitator, should not be ignored. This seminar will be an interactive workshop in which participants will engage with an innovative learning experience developed to prepare learners for teamwork, communication, and collaboration in healthcare settings. Participants will employ perspective-taking as they watch a video recording of Sorrel King telling Josie’s Story and share the perspective through roleplay during debriefing. After attending this seminar, participants will be able to:
