Dr. Carroll served as the Northern Arizona University Director of Clinical Education for 10 years, before moving into the Associate Program Director role at the Phoenix BioScience Core campus. She is a physical therapist with 24 years of experience treating patients in the acute care setting. Her topics of scholarly interests include community service, clinical education, faculty mentorship, and student success with competency based education in a residential program. She collaborates with University of Arizona Medical School and other NAU health professions, as program coordinator for all IPE events on campus, ie. Arizona Summit and the Client Health Mentor Program.

The Community Health Mentor Program in Arizona is a collaboration between the three public universities: Northern Arizona University, University of Arizona, and Arizona State University. In this program students from PT, OT, PA and MD programs work together to learn from the lived health experiences of members of the community who have either chronic medical conditions and/or disabilities.
