Dr. Timmer is currently an Associate Professor of Nursing at Palm Beach Atlantic University, School of Nursing since 2016. Executive Director of Volunteer Nurse Corps. The purpose of this lightening talk is to share how an academic institution can partner and build relationship with their county fire rescue team and help in some of their community initiatives such as fall prevention and risk assessments. More than 1 out of 4 older adult falls each year and falling once, increases risk of recurrent falls.
