Elizabeth Gwartney is a Doctor of occupational therapy student at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Campus. She is passionate about equitable care and accessibility. In her undergraduate biology program, she learned the value of publishing research so that others can benefit from shared knowledge. As a future provider, she hopes to continue learning from the work of others and contributing to a more accessible world for all.

The Unity@Keys clinic was conceptualized to meet the nursing, rehabilitation, and social needs of people with an ongoing, chronic condition such as aphasia. To accomplish this, the founding team needed to reimagine the structure of the preexisting student-run clinics. Allied health disciplines require longer times for holistic evaluation and intervention, as well as extended time/frequency of visits for follow-up.
