Daniel (Dan) Ostrovsky MD, FAAP, FACP received his MD from the University of Massachusetts and completed his residency and Chief residency in combined Internal Medicine-Pediatrics at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in Rochester, NY. Since 2004 he has been a clinical educator and core faculty member in the Duke University Combined Internal Medicine and Pediatrics Residency Training Program and is currently an Associate Professor of Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. He is currently the physician lead for the School of Medicine Electronic Health Record Curriculum and holds a Duke AHEAD Interprofessional Health Education Advanced Certificate.

Telehealth has become a mainstream form of patient engagement since the pandemic. Prior to COVID, health profession students had limited or no exposure to telehealth. Currently, health profession programs are increasingly adopting telehealth training into their curriculum. Given the "newness" of telehealth curricula, there is an opportunity to train health profession students in the use of telehealth utilizing an interprofessional collaborative practice model.
