Dr. Christi Barbee, AuD, CCC-A, F-AAA, is an associate professor at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, and has been involved in interprofessional activities since 2013, and has been providing and coordinating faculty training for campus IPE experiences. She has served as chair of the executive council for the Interprofessional Educators and Practitioners Association (IEPA), and chair and co-chair of the faculty development sub-committee of the IEPA. She has been a leader in interprofessional faculty development at OUHSC.

The Unity@Keys clinic was conceptualized to meet the nursing, rehabilitation, and social needs of people with an ongoing, chronic condition such as aphasia. To accomplish this, the founding team needed to reimagine the structure of the preexisting student-run clinics. Allied health disciplines require longer times for holistic evaluation and intervention, as well as extended time/frequency of visits for follow-up. The team of interprofessional educators will present their preliminary findings of the patient perception of teamwork for an allied health profession-led interprofessional clinic and compare these with the perceptions of preceptors and students. There is a gap in the evidence base for the representation of allied health participation in interprofessional (IP) education publications and a gap in allied health IP research studying the patient experience of IP clinical interventions [1].
