Chloe Maye earned her BS in Biology from Missouri Southern State University and is now a dual-degree DO/MPH student through Kansas City University - Joplin and University of Nebraska Medical Center, respectively. She has held several local leadership positions within Sigma Sigma Phi, the American Medical Women's Association, and the Student National Medical Association. Additionally, she regularly engages with her community through volunteering with Ronald McDonald House, Lafayette House, and Big, Brothers, Big Sisters. She has spent the past year participating in a Clinical Anatomy fellowship through KCU-J, which has allowed her to explore her love for teaching and research.

Sex and gender-related health disparities significantly impact patient outcomes. Despite the importance of sex- and gender-based medicine (SGBM) in personalizing medical care to patients’ unique needs, health professional education and training is lacking sex and gender health education (SGHE) content. This session is designed as an engaging moderated discussion, featuring diverse student leaders representing interprofessional student groups and innovative projects. The panelist members will highlight successful examples of interprofessional engagement and stimulate collaborative dialogue among all attendees. Together we will explore the benefits, incentives, and challenges to balancing interprofessional learning with profession-specific demands and discover opportunities for student engagement and leadership.
