Bridgett Piernik-Yoder, PhD, OTR, FAOTA, is Professor and Chair of the Department of Occupational Therapy at UT Health San Antonio. Her clinical expertise is in adult neurorehabilitation and her scholarly work addresses rehabilitation outcomes, supporting the needs of older adults and their caregivers living in the community, home safety and the reduction of fall risks for older adults, and the scholarship of teaching and learning in health science education.

Background, Problem, Aims: To strengthen IPE simulation focused on interprofessional communication, part of preparing students for collaborative practice, health professions educators should deliberately incorporate hybrid instructional methods to bypass logistical hurdles and longitudinal approaches to achieve higher-level learning outcomes.
