Bau Tran is the Director of Interprofessional Practice and Education for UT Southwestern. Dr. Tran completed his physician assistant training in 2008 at Red Rocks Physician Assistant Program in Colorado, and his Master of Medical Science from St. Francis University. He completed a physician assistant fellowship program in Critical Care Medicine with an emphasis in Emergency Medicine at the University of Massachusetts Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, MA. Prior to his work at UT Southwestern Medical Center, he received his Bachelor of Pharmacy in 1997 and his Doctorate in Pharmacology in 2001 from the University of Oklahoma College of Pharmacy.

As the Texas IPE Consortium approaches its tenth anniversary, it stands as a model for developing and sustaining leadership in interprofessional practice and education across Texas. The consortium provides: annual meetings focused on best practices in IPE, virtual conversations in IPE; in-person and virtual trainings for TeamSTEPPS, IPE Facilitation and Rapid Teaming; and has established a fellows program to mentor and support leaders in IPE.
