Ashanti Glass is a public health professional with a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree in Health Education and Promotion from Wingate University. With a strong commitment to improving community health outcomes, Ashanti has developed a diverse skill set that spans health education, policy analysis, and program management. During her academic tenure, she conducted community assessments and examined community-based programs. Her thesis, titled “Public Health and Primary Care in Rural Honduras,” explored the development and administration of a census survey for rural Honduras. Which contributed valuable insights to the field and garnered recognition from faculty and peers alike. Currently Asahnti is working with Wake County in Raleigh on the Public Health Workforce Program.

Background: Honduras is classified as a middle-income country with rural areas that lack basic healthcare services. In the rural areas, the geographic terrain is often a barrier to mobilizing to access healthcare services in neighboring communities.
