Amir Giurgius is a second-year student at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Pharmacy. He is part of the first cohort of students for the Interprofessional Scholars Program. Amir has been involved in clinical rural immersion, an interprofessional program where he collaborated with students from nursing and medical school programs, and learn about rural healthcare. He has organized his own interprofessional activity known as Telephone to facilitate cross-disciplinary understanding between students of pharmacy and physician assistant programs. As his time in the program grows, he expects his breadth and depth of interprofessional skills to grow as well.

Background: While interprofessional curricular activities are required by most health professions programs, learners are often looking for additional experiences to develop as an interprofessional team-member.
