Abigail Palin is a fourth-year medical student at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry, Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of New Hampshire Honors Program. Outside of her research on interprofessional education, Abigail pursues passions for teaching, public-speaking, mediating conflict, and delivering compassionate care through service as a Maine AHEC Care for the Underserved Pathways (CUP) Scholar, past director of the annual Compassion Training Workshop, and trained crisis counselor at Crisis Text Line. She will be applying to psychiatry residency with plans to pursue addiction medicine.

Presenting at the Nexus Summit:

Qualitative analysis of interprofessional simulations identified student-derived themes of Conflict, Feedback, Roles, Patient Care, Team Operations, Time-Outs, and Priorities. These alternative themes provide a more applicable and practical approach to understanding metacognitive processes underlying interprofessional team learning behaviors when compared to the Interprofessional Education Collaborative (IPEC) core sub-competency themes.
