Susan Hall, EdD, MSN, RNC-OB, CCE worked as a clinical staff nurse in Maternity at Novant: Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem , NC. Dr. Hall joined Winston-Salem State University in 2007, serves as an Associate Professor, Family Community and Mental Health Area Coordinator in the Division of Nursing Traditional Baccalaureate Program. Dr. Hall’s philosophy as an educator is providing ongoing evaluation and assessment in determining what teaching pedagogy produces the best product. Dr. Hall’s primarily teaching is the traditional maternity newborn course. She loves to work with diverse students at various levels. She obtained a master’s degree in health care administration in 2004 and a terminal degree (2012) in education with a concentration in teacher leadership, which supports the focus of her scholarship. In 2021, she earned a prestigious Joseph Patterson master teacher award. Hall has over 40 years of experience in nursing. She has been involved with Interprofessional education (IPE) for several years to enhance students to be more involved utilizing team-based approach with other disciplines. Dr. Hall primary area of research is simulation as a tool for promoting student success.

To better suit the needs of our ever-changing educational landscape, we organized an in-person Interprofessional Collaborative Event intersecting the technological interests of the students with face-to-face problem solving.
