Dr. Sara Banzhaf is the track leader for the Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Track. Current clinical practice is at an urban interprofessional community healthcare clinic as a PMHNP. Scholarship interests include innovative strategies promoting quality interprofessional psychiatric-mental health practice and education, and the integration of a reflective practice promoting quality outcomes. She currently is the principal investigator for the grant project: An Interprofessional Approach to Psychiatric-Mental Health Assessment in an Urban Community Clinic and the principal invesitigator for the grant project: Leveraging an Academic -Service Partnership to Increase Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioners in Nebraska. Additionally, Dr. Banzhaf serves as the Co-Chair for the APNA Graduate Education Council, Member of the NONPF - PMHNP Competency Revision Committee, and is an active member of the NE Behavioral Health Education Partners.

The psychiatric-mental health crisis requires an innovative approach for early identification and timely access to services.
