Olivia Kaus is a medical student in the class of 2026 at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. Through her work as the Internal Chair of Community Relations and on the Community Advisory Board at the Phillips Neighborhood Clinic, a free student run clinic, she has become passionate about the unique perspectives brought by each member of an interprofessional team. In the future, she hopes to pursue a career in pediatrics and continue to promote health equity and access for all patients.

Volunteering in a student-run free clinic (SRFC) is a common way for health science graduate students to engage with the community where their institution is located. Serving in this environment acts as an introductory, supportive learning environment for students to practice community health work and develop their understanding of patient-care centered care.
