Mikayla Sargent is a fourth-year Medical Student at the University of New England's College of Osteopathic Medicine. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies in the Humanities from the University of New England. Mikaya is passionate about reproductive rights, sexual health education, and LGBTQ+ health. She is an inspiring Obstetrician/Gynecologist.

Interprofessional education (IPE) in healthcare training strives to create a collaborative healthcare workforce for the betterment of patient care. One of the aims of IPE experiences is to challenge healthcare hierarchies, with the focus being on fluid leadership amongst healthcare team members.
