Michelle McCann is the Assistant Dean of Community Engaged Learning and Service and serves as Assistant Clinical Professor/Doctoral Capstone Coordinator in the John G. Rangos, Sr. School of Health Sciences at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Dr. McCann serves on the Interprofessional Education Committee at the University and serves in various roles for other healthcare-related organizations. Dr. McCann actively engages in collaborations with community and clinical partners to develop programs in dynamic and emerging practice areas which support interprofessional learning and service opportunities for students and faculty.

Background and Aims: Healthcare students’ preparation for engagement collaborative practice may be enhanced through the consideration of cultural humility and interprofessional socialization. Therefore, inclusion of these elements is gaining emphasis within IPE implementation.
