Dr. Meredith Baker-Rush is the Program Director, IPHS Doctoral Program, Interprofessional Research Faculty Lead, DeWitt C. Baldwin Institute at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science. She received her PhD in Psychology with a concentration in Health Psychology from Walden University and her Master of Science degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Rush University. She is a Distinguished Fellow in the National Academy of Practice (NAP), Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE), serves on the Editorial Board for the Journal of Interprofessional Education and Practice, and is a peer reviewer for several healthcare journals.

Background:Current models of interprofessional collaborative practice (IPCP) appear to focus on the patient as the object of care despite the attempt for inclusion. Studies regarding IPCP are focal to healthcare professionals and patients are rarely included.
