Dr Mairead Cahill is an Associate Professor in Occupational Therapy at the University of Limerick. She qualified as an Occupational Therapist from Trinity College Dublin (BSc), gained her MSc at Trinity College Dublin and graduated with a PhD from the University of Limerick in 2023. She worked as a Practice Education Co-Ordinator at UL for several years. Prior to working at UL she gained clinical OT experience in acute and rehabilitation settings (physical disability) in Ireland and the UK. Mairead’s research interests include older adults health and well-being, qualitative research methods and interprofessional education in the classroom and clinical practice settings.
Presenting at the Nexus Summit:
Through a unique collaboration between Eastern Michigan University, University College Cork, and the University of Limerick, 11 faculty and 115 nursing, occupational therapy, and social work students conducted an interprofessional case study. This international learning experience aimed to enhance students' global healthcare awareness by engaging with peers to learn more about how different healthcare systems and cultural values influence care.
