Lisa Connelly, DNP, RN is an Assistant Professor of Nursing and the BSN Program Director at the Onanian School of Nursing at Rhode Island College in Providence, RI. She has been a Registered Nurse for 34 years, and her interests include medical-surgical nursing, interprofessional education, simulation, and leadership. She is an active member in her local chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing and has served as faculty counselor and vice president. She is passionate about improving communication with patients who have limited English proficiency.

This Lightning Talk will explore the complex challenges faced by today's healthcare professionals, with a focus on mitigating the negative effects of professional ego on medical errors and racialized medicine.
