Kendall Guthrie, PharmD, BCACP is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Pharmacy (UMKC-SOP). She has a background practicing in community pharmacy settings and serves as the Director of Co-Curriculum for the school. Dr. Guthrie is an interprofessional event coordinator for the Kansas City campus and serves on the UMKC Interprofessional Education Steering and Curriculum and Assessment committees. She is currently serving as President-Elect on the Board of Directors for Missouri Pharmacy Association. Research interests include clinical service development in the community setting, interprofessional education, and innovative teaching within applied skills lab courses.

The Dr. Hotspot event is the second of four interprofessional education (IPE) activities integrated across a four-year curriculum and engages learners from schools of medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, nursing, and social work. The annual event was initiated in-person fall of 2013 and transitioned online in 2018 secondary to the pandemic. The same assessment tools to gauge learner attitudes have been utilized for ten years.
