Katelyn received her Bachelors of Science in Therapeutic Recreation from the University of Southern Maine. She is currently an occupational therapy student at the University of New England. In addition to being a part of the Interprofessional Harm Reduction Team, she also holds a leadership position for the UNE chapter of the Coalition of Occupational Therapy Advocates for Diversity (COTAD).

Harm reduction encompasses a myriad of practical strategies to minimize the negative outcomes of individuals who use drugs. This project aimed to achieve a multifaceted objective: promoting the successful reintegration and recovery of individuals exiting the Cumberland County Jail (CCJ) in Portland, Maine, while concurrently reducing the stigma surrounding substance use disorders.
