Deborah Gomez Kwolek, MD, FACP, FAMWA, MSCP, is a nationally recognized leader in women's health and sex and gender based medical education and the founding lead of the Women’s Health and Sex and Gender Medicine Program at the Massachusetts General Hospital. She is co-editor of the textbook, "Sex- and Gender- based Women's Health: A practical guide for primary care” and is Chair of the AMWA/ Sex and Gender Health Collaborative. She oversees a national student education project to bring women’s health and sex and gender medicine more fully into curricula.

Sex and gender-related health disparities significantly impact patient outcomes. Despite the importance of sex- and gender-based medicine (SGBM) in personalizing medical care to patients’ unique needs, health professional education and training is lacking sex and gender health education (SGHE) content.
