Dr. David Ojeda received his D.D.S. in Caracas, Venezuela, in 2008 and completed the Oral Surgery and Oral Medicine program at the Xaverian University School of Dentistry in Colombia before returning to Caracas in private practice. In 2015, he completed an Oral Medicine & Orofacial Pain fellowship at the New York University College of Dentistry and later completed a residency in Oral Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. His research interest lies in the relationship and impact of oral health in systemic health, the integration of Medicine and Dentistry, Interprofessional Education, and behavioral sciences related to Medicine, Dentistry, and Education.

Background, Problem, Aims: To strengthen IPE simulation focused on interprofessional communication, part of preparing students for collaborative practice, health professions educators should deliberately incorporate hybrid instructional methods to bypass logistical hurdles and longitudinal approaches to achieve higher-level learning outcomes. The LINC Simulation IPE Experience at UT Health San Antonio—designed as part of a university-wide effort to do just that—began in 2023 with 769 students representing 11 different professions at/near the middle of their respective educational programs.…
