Dr. Allison Macerollo is an Associate Professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at The Ohio State University and vice chair of education in her department which allows her to oversee educational activities related to undergraduate and graduate medical education and provide faculty development and mentorship for faculty. She created, implemented, and co-directs an accelerated medical school track that allows students to graduate medical school in three years. Her key missions are to provide high quality care for patients who are not able or equipped to demand it and to develop the primary care workforce of the future.

Based on student feedback, leaders from the Doctor of Medicine (MD) curriculum and the Office of Interprofessional Practice and Education (OIPE) at The Ohio State University developed a new module for medical students to learn interprofessional (IP) collaborative competencies within a required clinical experience, Patients with Populations (PWP).
