I am currently a faculty in the Occupational Thearpy Department of the University of New England in Portland, Maine. I have worked clinically with interprofessional teams, serving pediatric and young adult clients with Intellectual, Developmental, and Neuromuscular Disabilities to promote occupational participation and well-being. I currently explore critical theoretical approaches to understanding occupation (in relation to both OT as a profession and Occupational Science as a discipline) as well as OT education/curricular design.

Interprofessional education (IPE) in healthcare training strives to create a collaborative healthcare workforce for the betterment of patient care. One of the aims of IPE experiences is to challenge healthcare hierarchies, with the focus being on fluid leadership amongst healthcare team members. In this talk, researchers will discuss their analysis of the impact of IPE in a simulation experience for students of various healthcare professions.
