Do it for the Culture! Manifesting Antiracist Research into Action
Racism, not race, is a fundamental cause of racial health inequities. Health professionals have unique opportunities to address the harms of structural racism, but to address racial health disparities they must first "learn about, understand, and accept the U.S.'s racist roots. In this keynote address, Dr. Hardeman will offer a comprehensive framework for turning antiracist research into practical and sustainable actions to eliminate health inequities.
Learning Goals:
- Identify and describe how structural racism affects racial health outcomes.
- Understand and apply antiracism frameworks to the field of health.
- Evaluate and incorporate community-centered and antiracist best practices as core professional competencies.
In support of improving patient care, this activity is planned and implemented by The National Center for Interprofessional Practice and Education Office of Interprofessional Continuing Professional Development (National Center OICPD).
